Discovering Stonemountain

Last week I discovered another treasure!  Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley, California.

Entering Stonemountain is like entering a candy store - rows upon rows of rich colors and textures, cottons from Japan, silks from China.

A trip upstairs took me to the workshop, where craftsy students cut and sew creations.  Oh, I wish I had time to take a class!

The highlight is the cotton sale section.  I found hundreds of lovely cottons on sale for half price!  You can bet that I have added to my collection.

The next time I am back in the Bay Area, I will be visiting Stonemountain and Daughter again.  Folks there are so welcoming, and you cannot beat the selection and prices.  A fabric fantasy come true!

Happy crafting!

On the river

I have been on the river the past two days.
It flows - interminable - carrying dark green reflections of sky.
You can stare at the waters as you would a fire, mesmerized.
The summer river brings peace, pulling calmness out and over you,
like a soft worn shirt you have always loved and felt comfortable in.
